Lonzo Ball (knee) plans to play in season opener

The WAE Show
Lonzo Ball (left knee surgery) said on his podcast that he plans to play in Chicago's season opener in October.
Analysis: Ball hasn't played in over two years, but as of now, he is planning to play this upcoming season. That is a long way away, so a lot could change over the next five months, but he appears to be optimistic. He also explained on his podcast that he had to get a new meniscus from a donor as part of his recovery, which is concerning for his long-term health. Hopefully there will be more updates in the coming months that will paint a clearer picture of what his potential availability could look like to start next season.

Julian Phillips (right foot sprain) said at Sunday's NBA Draft lottery that he has completed his rehabilitation process and is working out as he normally would.
Analysis: Phillips, the 35th overall pick in last summer's draft, sprained his foot in mid-March and missed the remainder of his rookie campaign. The fact that he's back to full strength at this point in Chicago's offseason is good news for the Bulls, who should be able to evaluate Phillips even more in Summer League action this summer. His fantasy potential depends on what the Bulls do this offseason, with DeMar DeRozan being an unrestricted free agent.
